Exciting news: 2 millionth Vula!

Vula has gone past a significant milestone—our 2 millionth VULA! To imagine that number, 1 out of 30 South Africans has been involved with Vula as a patient or a health worker. If you watch a rugby match there are 30 people on the pitch and you can imagine that one of them has had better care because health workers used Vula.
When we started 10 years ago, Vula had only 367 referrals during the whole of 2014. At that time we thought that only 2 types of health worker would use Vula namely, doctors and nurses. Fast forward a decade Vula is used daily by 105 different types of health worker across South Africa, Lesotho, Zambia, and a project in Nigeria. A patient is helped every 45 seconds. Our mission remains clear to connect health workers and improve patient care.
